Being a participation preschool means just that; our parents join together to aid in running the school. At Explorer, every family helps out in a variety of ways, and the primary goal in everything that we do is to continue to keep our school a great early learning experience for our children.

Other Family Obligations

New Families — Attend the school orientation in September

All Families

• Participate in 2-4 classroom workdays a month, depending on the class
• Attend the class orientation and all class and school Parent Education Meetings
• Participate in the Scrip program
• Attend one or two Saturday maintenance work days*
• Provide refreshments at two Parent Education Meetings*

TTh, MWF, 4day Families — Hold a committee job or board position, and Participate in the school's fundraising activities

*Those families serving on the board are exempt from PEC refreshment duty and have a reduced maintenance requirement.

Explorer is a wonderful community made up of dedicated families that believe in providing a positive and caring preschool experience for our kids. When you join Explorer, you will find this community to be welcoming and ready to help you immerse yourself in the coop experience. You will benefit from working alongside accredited teachers with 10, 15 and 30 years of early childhood development experience, as well as from your fellow classmates.
